During the academic year, Campus Housing accommodates UCSB students on a contract basis which does not allow for short-term stays in university-owned residence halls and apartments. In the summer months, residence halls and apartments are managed by UCSB Conference & Hospitality Services and provide bed space for conferences, summer session students, and more. See below for several available on-campus options and other resources for overnight accommodations throughout the year.
The Club & Guest House
The Club & Guest House at UC Santa Barbara offers 34 boutique hotel-style guest rooms — with single king, double queen, single queen, and ADA-accessible options — for campus guests, visiting scholars, families of students, and more. Guest House rates are all-inclusive with no extra fees.
The West Cottages
The West Cottages are located on the West Campus bluffs and offer a peaceful, retreat-like setting with views of the ocean. Sleeping accommodations include rooms with private and shared bathrooms. 2- and 3-bedroom suites are also available. Only visiting scholars or faculty and those conducting University of California business are eligible to stay in the West Cottages.
June Temporary Housing
June Temporary Housing is available to UCSB students seeking to bridge the period of time between the end of residence hall or apartment contracts and the start of summer housing. We'd like to make the process of transitioning to your new lease/contract as easy as possible. (San Miguel image)
September Temporary Housing
September Temporary Housing is available to UCSB students seeking permanent local housing or while they wait for their fall housing to begin. These transition times are often challenging and we are here to provide a helpful option.
