UCSB Residential & Community Living is looking for up to seven energetic and enthusiastic Resident Assistants (RAs) for our Family Student Housing (FSH) communities: Storke and West Campus. Below, you can find details about the application process and our timeline.

Application Process

Candidates will fill out a 5 question application using the link below. Please take your time and thoroughly answer the questions in the application.

Provisions of Employment

  • Will attend and participate in all mandatory staff training, meetings and in-services. Mandatory training during June 22, 2026 through July 2, 2026 is required in order to remain in the role. Plan to be available from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. during these two weeks. 
  • Will be assumed to provide 10-12 hours of service on the long-range average, during all employment. Types of RA services include, but are not limited to:
    • Attend all staff meetings, training and staff development activities.
    • Plan and attend all community meetings. 
    • Meet with residents as needed.
    • Plan and implement a specified number of educational, social and recreational activities each quarter.
    • Serve in the on-call/duty rotation.
    • Collaborate with University faculty, staff and students.
    • Complete special assignments, projects, committee work, and administrative tasks.
    • Complete occupancy inspections and move-out support.
    • Provide additional staffing during “all-in” dates: Halloween period, the Warm Up/Deltopia (date TBD), and Spring Open House (date TBD)
  • Must be a full-time, enrolled UCSB student or partner of enrolled UCSB student in Family Student Housing.
  • Must maintain a 2.3 overall GPA and achieve a 2.0 Quarterly GPA in order to remain in good standing.  If an RA falls below the cumulative GPA, they may be released from their position.
  • Must adhere to Federal and State Laws, and to the terms and conditions of the UCSB campus regulations, including university housing Policies and Terms & Conditions, from the time of their initial appointment until they vacate their assigned RA unit at the end of their contract period (including leaving their assigned RA unit in a clean and orderly condition).

Candidates are notified if they are advancing

Tuesday, February 3- Friday, February 6, 2026
Interview process takes place

Monday, February 9-Friday, February 13, 2026
2nd year RAs process takes place

Friday, March 6, 2026
Candidates will be notified if they have received a conditional offer

 Week 2 of Spring Quarter, April 6th-April 10th
