Construction Update for the Week of April 28, 2014

April 29, 2014

What’s happening at the Sierra Madre Villages construction site this week:

Paving at the new West Campus/Sierra Madre Court entrance has been completed.  All traffic entering/exiting the complex will be transitioned to the new road on the morning of Wednesday, April 30th.  Workers will be on site directing traffic as the transition is made, and the fence line will be moved to eliminate confusion between the old and new entrances.  We expect the new entrance to provide more visibility to vehicles entering and exiting the complex.

Goleta Water District will be performing a water shut off on Thursday, May 1, to finish the tie in of the newly installed pipe along the back of the complex to the existing water line.  This will require a complete water shut off to apartments at the south end of the complex (please see earlier notice with specific apartments listed)  This work will make the water system more stable at West Campus, and more accessible in case of emergency.

Behind the construction fencing walls and balconies are going up on additional buildings.  With many of the materials being pre-fabricated off site, this work should go quickly.

All work this week should occur off of the main road, so no traffic detours are expected, however there will be large equipment and associated noise at times.  The road is also slightly more narrow than usual, so please exercise caution when driving, and always follow the posted one way signage.
