Short Stays

Housing, Dining & Auxiliary Enterprises provides facilities to campus residents on a contract basis only during the academic year. This does not allow for short term stays in university-owned residences. In the summer months, residence halls and apartments are managed by our conferences department and provide bed space for conferees and summer session students. There are several on-campus options and other resources available:

The Club & Guest House The Club & Guest House at UCSB offers 34 boutique hotel-style guest rooms—with single king, double queen, single queen, and ADA accessible options—for campus guests, visiting scholars, families of students and more. Guest House rates are all-inclusive with no extra fees, and overnight guests enjoy daily complimentary deluxe continental breakfast with fresh, local and sustainable menu selections.
Student Hotel HDAE offers a short-term summer housing option for qualified UCSB students. Rooms are limited and the main purpose is to house students who are required to be at UCSB earlier than the opening of the halls due to participation in a University-sponsored program. Please see web link for details and specifics.
Transitional Student Housing Occasionally (usually summer) interim housing is offered to students transitioning between contracts or quarters. This is usually limited and for a short duration. Please check the link for more information.
Local Resources There are many websites regarding local accomodations but here are a few to get started. They are not affiliated with Housing, Dining & Auxiliary Enterprises.
