San Clemente Villages: Winter 2021 Move In

MOVE-IN INFORMATION: The earliest move-in day is January 3, 2021.



  • Daily symptom monitoring through the Student Health Daily COVID-19 Symptom Screening survey required beginning 10 days prior to arrival and every day thereafter. (This will be emailed to all students moving in.)

FLU SHOTS are required by order of the UC Office of the President for all persons on campus. Please ATTEST that you have received your influenza vaccination on the SHS website at More information is at

No student who has symptoms of COVID-19 should travel to campus; you should seek medical care at home and ensure you do not have COVID-19 before departure.

UPON ARRIVAL: Obtain a COVID-19 test on campus immediately, available at no charge to students living on campus. Getting tested should be one of the first things you do.  (Further information on how to schedule this appointment at our campus testing sites will be emailed to you.)


  • SEQUESTER in your room (leaving only for essential activities) for at least 7 days.  In person social interactions should be minimal to none. 
  • Obtain a second COVID-19 test on campus after 7 days, available at no charge to students living on campus. 
  • Follow our campus COVID-19 mitigation measures:
    • Always wear face coverings in public
    • Maintain appropriate physical distance from others
    • Wash hands frequently
    • Observe all public health orders, including the prohibition of social gatherings beyond those in your immediate household

REGULAR TESTING THEREAFTER: Minimally, weekly testing after arrival or on a schedule to be determined BY CAMPUS. (COVID testing is provided for students living on campus, funded by the University.)

Please remember that you MUST sign up for an appointment to either:

  • Be tested for COVID upon arrival
  • OR submit verification of a negative COVID test result (test taken within 7 days of arrival)
  • OR presenting a positive test result from 10-90 days of arrival
    • These residents will receive a waiver from the Covid-19 Response Team at the testing site.  

Key Pick Up Instructions:

  • For those arriving on January 3rd:
    • Go directly to the Santa Ynez Apartment Office  (6750 El Colegio) to pick up your keys.
  • The Santa Ynez Apartment Office will be open, by exception, on Sunday, January 3RD from 10AM - 3PM. Please be sure to arrive within this time frame in order to check in and receive your keys 
  • You must show verification of having scheduled a testing appointment to take place within the next 48 hours
  • You will need your Driver’s License or other form of identification
  • For those arriving after January 3rd:
    • If you will be taking a COVID test upon arrival OR presenting a negative result from a test taken within 7 days of arrival:
    • You will go directly to the testing site to get tested or have results verified. All details related to your testing appointment will be outlined in the appointment confirmation email.
    • After clearing the test site, you will go to the Santa Ynez Apartment Office to pick up your keys during normal business hours.
      • You must show verification that you have cleared the testing site OR present your testing appointment confirmation
      • You will need your Driver’s License or other form of identification
  • For those taking a COVID test within 48 hours of arrival:
    • Go directly to the Santa Ynez Apartment Office (6750 El Colegio Road) to pick up your key during normal business hours.
      • You must show verification of having scheduled a testing appointment to take place within the next 48 hours
      • You will need your Driver’s License or other form of identification
  • If you cannot provide confirmation of having cleared the testing site OR that you have scheduled a testing appointment, you will not be given a key, and you will need to make other arrangements for accommodations until you have scheduled an appointment.
  • The Santa Ynez Apartment Office is open Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm (closed 12:00pm - 1:00pm). Weekend, holiday, and after hours assistance is available from 10:00am - 8:00pm by calling 805-451-9416.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where is my room or unit?
    • Please check the San Clemente Villages map to find your unit's location. When viewing the map please note that San Clemente Villages is three stories tall so a unit above a first floor unit will have the second digit in the unit number replaced with a 2 or a 3 depending on the floor it's on (Example: the unit above unit 2102, is 2202, and above that is 2302). 
  • Where do I park to unload & move in?
    • Short Term Parking for unloading is available in San Clemente Lot 51, 52 and 53 or the Lot 50 parking structure. 
  • How can I move my belongings to my room?
    • There are carts available in the San Clemente Center. Please feel free to use these carts to transfer belongings during your move-in or move-out. Please return the carts to the San Clemente Center when you have finished using them.  
  • What do I do if I'm locked out of my apartment?
    • The Santa Ynez Apartment Office can issue you a temporary key if you get locked out of your bedroom/apartment. Our office is open Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm (closed 12:00pm - 1:00pm). If you need assistance after 5 pm or on weekends, please call the RA On-Call at 805-451-9416.

When prompted for a username, type YourNetID@ The is required, or the login will not work. For the password, use your NetID password. Move-In Condition Form & Work Requests
We strongly recommend that you inspect your room at move-in and report any pre-existing damage to avoid charges at move-out. To file a report go to: and click on the button labeled Move-In Condition Form. If you do not submit a form within 72 hours of checking in, you accept the space as is and assume liability for the condition of your unit. To submit work request throughout the year go to: and click "something in my residence".

Your mailbox number is your apartment number. There are two different mailing addresses depending on the carrier. Please read the links below on proper formatting for your mailing address. If you are expecting an oversized package via USPS and received an email that it has arrived, please pick it up from the Mail Truck in Lot 51 during the delivery time hours: Monday-Friday 1:15pm-4pm. Large packages for private carriers are delivered to apartment front doors. 
If you have a valid parking permit for your apartment, those autos with permits can proceed to Lot 50 (the parking garage by Arrowhead Village). For more information about obtaining a parking permit for your vehicle please visit the Transportation & Parking Services website. Otherwise, all visitors and other vehicles who require parking must purchase a visitor parking permit at the parking machine dispensers located in Parking Lots 51, 52, and 53 located in between San Clemente Villages.
  • Parking permits during Academic year
    • Parking Permits for the San Clemente Villages will be issued by Transportation & Parking Services. A valid parking permit is mandatory for all vehicles parked in our Residential & Community Living areas. If you have not yet done so, please create a parking account at:
    • Resident permits are issued by Transportation & Parking Services. After creating a parking account and being approved with valid vehicle registration information, you'll receive a temporary permit to display on your dashboard and your actual decal will be delivered through your SCV mailbox. TPS office is located across the street from the San Clemente tennis courts, during business hours (for the most updated business hours, please check their website).
