Looking for a refreshing morning beverage, afternoon snack or dessert? Consider making your own smoothie. Here a few simple recipes that you can make at home.
This recipe comes from Suzy McClain- and it is called The Vegas Protein Date
½ Cup Vanilla Greek Yogurt- you could also use a plain
½ Cup 2% milk
1 frozen banana
2 dates pitted
1 teaspoon almond butter
1 teaspoon old-fashioned rolled oats
½ teaspoon cocoa
Top with a sprinkle of sea salt
To start- blend oats in a blender until finely ground. Add frozen banana, yogurt, dates, and almond butter. Add cocoa and blend. Pour into drinking vehicle and sprinkle with sea salt and oats.
This recipe comes from Emily Cooper- and it is called Banana Split Smoothie
½ cup low-fat milk
½ cup plain low-fat Greek yogurt
1 ½ frozen banana
4 ice cubes
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 strawberries diced
⅓ cup crushed pineapple
½ tablespoon chocolate syrup
1 teaspoon rainbow sprinkles (optional)
To start- add milk, yogurt, banana, ice cubes and vanilla in a blender. Blend on high until smooth. Add a layer of strawberries and pineapple to a large glass. Add smoothie, and top with remaining strawberries, pineapple, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. Add sprinkles if using and enjoy.

½ cup low-fat Greek vanilla yogurt
1 cup low-fat milk
1 small frozen banana
2 tablespoon dried peanut butter powder
1 tablespoon cacao powder
1 tablespoon ground chia seeds
