Santa Catalina

Santa Catalina is UCSB’s largest residence hall, accommodating nearly 1300 undergraduate students. It is made up of two separate towers with North tower spanning 11 floors and South tower, 10 floors. Many rooms provide stunning views of the ocean, mountains, and surrounding community. Residents are a short 10-minute off-street bike ride from the middle of campus or a 5-minute bus ride to campus. Santa Catalina has its own swimming pool, fitness room, and dining commons. Parking is off-site, adjacent to the stadium in lot 38. For more information, please visit the Parking & Transportation page. Please note: Residents of Santa Catalina will experience the nearby construction of San Joaquin Apartments which is scheduled to be finished by the end of Fall Quarter 2016. Every step possible will be taken to minimize any distractions and to maximize the great learning experience that occurs in this facility.

UCSB residence hall triple rooms are considered temporary, whether or not a student requests one as their top preference. Our standard is a double room, so budget for a double. Students will receive a rate discount only for the time three students are booked in the room. If one (or both) of the roommates move out, the remaining student(s) will be billed the double room rate, prorated, from that date through the end of the contract period.
