Santa Catalina Move In Information

Santa Catalina Residence Hall

  • Where do I check in?

Initial check in for Santa Catalina Hall takes place at Stage 1 (see directions below) from Friday, September 22 to Sunday, September 24.  Please do NOT go directly to Santa Catalina. This first check in is best accessed using the Los Carneros Rd exit if you are arriving on the 101 North and South.

From Highway 101 South (arriving from areas north of UCSB)

  • Exit Los Carneros Rd and turn right
  • Continue on Los Carneros for 1.0 miles
  • Turn right onto Discovery Drive
  • Proceed down Discovery Drive making certain that your green parking permit (which you will receive in the mail by mid-September) is visible on the driver's side. Staff will direct you to the check in location

From the Highway 101 North (arriving from areas south of UCSB)  

  • Exit Los Carneros Road and turn left
  • Continue on Los Carneros for 1.0 miles
  • Turn right onto Discovery Drive
  • Proceed down Discovery Drive making certain that your green parking permit (which you will receive in the mail by mid-September) is visible on the driver's side. Staff will direct you to the check in location

  • Where do I pick up my keys?
    • You will receive your keys during check in at Stage 1. You will then be directed to Santa Catalina for unloading. After unloading all of your belongings please follow the parking directions listed below.
  • Are there elevators to help during move in?
    • All floors in Santa Catalina have elevator access. You can see the location of the elevators via the Santa Catalina map as indicated by an X in a box.
  • Where is my room?
  • Where can I park after move in?
    • There is long-term/weekend parking for incoming residents in lots 10, 12, 16, 18 Mesa parking structure & 22 parking structure on campus after unloading is complete.
      • Shuttle Service
        • There is a shuttle service provided that can bring people from a stop close to the Long Term Lots (University Plaza) to stops by Santa Catalina Residence Hall, Santa Rosa Residence Hall and Anacapa Residence Hall.  There are two lines, so please make sure you're getting on the shuttle that takes you to your destination.
