Construction Updates for the Week of February 24, 2014

February 24, 2014

What’s happening at the Sierra Madre Villages construction site this week:

Tierra Construction has commenced on the Sierra Madre Court storm drain work, starting from southwest corner of SMV site (near Venoco access road junction), behind the current SMV construction fence and will head Eastward along Sierra Madre court towards the new entrance out at Storke.  At some point soon this work will come out of the existing construction fence into the entrance road areas.  This work is authorized to start at 7am per CCC and per contracts given, and will take approximately two weeks to complete.

Rain is expected at the end of this week, which may delay some work.

Anticipated West Campus impacts for this week:

Work resumes on the West Campus lawn to relocate the front entrance.  In order to get as much of this work completed as possible before the next rain, the work may begin as early as 7:00am and continue through 5:00pm daily this week, until stopped by rain.
NOTE: None of this work will be done in time to alleviate the potential pooling & flooding of the old existing entrance when it rains.   The various projects in the area are working to secure their own areas before the rains so that they do not contribute any additional runoff to the existing situation.
Residents should be prepared for the entrance to be pooling during upcoming rains - just as it always has in the past.
