Nutrition Week in the Dining Commons

During the first week of March, specifically March 3-7th the dining commons will be celebrating Nutrition Week. Nutrition week is a campaign to promote health and wellness. We want our students to feel educated about nutrition and feel confident in making informed choices.

The week will be packed with fun activities and learning experiences. On Monday students will have the opportunity to taste exotic fruits; some examples might include dragon fruit, lychee and kumquats. Other fun and interactive activities includes make your own trail mix while learning about non meat protein sources. There will also be three tasting tables developed by our Executive Chef Jaime Herrera, on Monday look out for a Blueberry Clafouti at De La Guerra Dining Common.

To get the excitement started Residential Dining is having a button contest. The button contest started on February 11th and will end on February 25th. The winner of the button design will win 2 tickets to a concert in LA, and the winner will get to pick the artist (seats are determined by Residential Dining). The winner will be announced prior to Nutrition Week and the button will be used to promote the week. You can pick up an entry form at any dining common.
We are excited to host this event, so get ready to learn, and eat great, nutritious food.
