Introducing the 2016-17 RHA President!

December 13, 2016

RHA is our Residence Housing Association, the Student Government of our Residence Halls. Here's a message from their president...

Hello beautiful people,

When one begins incentivizing the knowledge that is all around, exponential growth is inevitable. I have never appreciated knowledge as much as I do now and it only grows stronger. UCSB has given me all-access to opportunities that have allowed me to be as progressive as I would like.

My name is Michelle Jocson-Macrohon and I am the 2016-17 RHA President as a second year, Asian American Women of Color, first generation, and queer student. I am determined to represent all residents and those all around to my best ability throughout my journey. I truly believe that no one can put an age or cap on the passion one has for advocacy. With that, I will continue striving to be the anti-status quo to all stereotypes and proving that sometimes the impossible is indeed very possible.

Additionally, I ran a green campaign where I used less than 10 sheets of paper. I also designed the graphics for my profile picture, cover photo, and stickers. The majority of my campaign was done through social media and word of mouth which shows that one can be effective while being environmentally friendly. This could not have been done without the love and support from you all. I am blessed to have an amazing support system and I love each and every one of you.

Now that I am President, I will continue my passion to serve my community. I will be joined by members of RHA who are just as dedicated. I do not plan to maintain the status quo, but to guide RHA in a direction that benefits an inclusive environment for all. I am more than open to any suggestions or concerns any one may have so please feel free to contact me.

Thank you and . . . . . .
STAY BLESSED!

~Michelle Jocson-Macrohon
