Take-Out Meals – Academic Year
Want the freedom and flexibility to eat at the beach or to take a meal to your next class? The take-out meal program is a great alternative for residents to eat where they want. The program provides valid meal plan holders with the option to put together a meal of their choice in a reusable container.
This program is available at Ortega Dining Commons, only during the breakfast and lunch meal period, Monday through Friday. The program is limited to one take-out meal per meal period.
How it Works
This program is designed for a resident to take one meal’s worth of food out of Ortega Dining Commons for their own consumption. Residents may sign up for this optional program. This meal is non-transferable and intended only for the meal plan holder. A one-time nominal fee for the reusable container is billed to the resident’s BARC account.
Residents must leave their Access card with the Ortega lobby staff while gathering their meal. The Access card will be returned to the resident upon exiting the dining commons.
All food chosen for takeout must be placed inside and fit within the provided reusable container, including fruit and dessert items, and the container lid must close completely.
One beverage cup is provided per take-out meal and is intended solely for beverages. Personal beverage containers may be used for water only.
Participants of the take-out meal program may not sit or eat in the dining room.
Note: Meal privileges will be revoked if a meal plan holder is found to be abusing the take-out meal service.
Take-Out Meal Closure Dates
The take-out meal program is not available during the following dates:
