
Yep, you guessed it; it’s that time of year again, when people make weight loss New Year’s Resolutions. Unfortunately most people end up losing momentum by mid-January, which is next week! So is it possible to keep your resolutions?
Remember that weight loss takes time. The foundation of successful weight loss is focusing on a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean protein, low fat dairy products and healthy fats. And then combine that with exercise. For long term weight loss, you must make permanent changes in your lifestyle as well as eating habits. It is important to make your weight loss a priority and know that it will take a lot of work and dedication.
Consider following these strategies for weight loss success:
1. Set realistic goals- make it small at first
2. Enjoy healthier foods- like fruits, vegetables, lean protein etc. Try to limit foods high in saturated fat, Tran’s fats, and sodium
3. Get active, and stay active- join a gym or find a running buddy
4. Change your perspective- be realistic, changing your diet can be challenging and weight loss takes time
