Changing Your Meal Plan

If you reside in a university-owned residence hall and would like to change your meal plan, you may email your request or fill out a request at 1501 Housing & Residential Services Office, adjacent to De La Guerra Dining Commons.

Requests to decrease meals can be made twice per year and will be in effect at the beginning of the following quarter
Requests to increase meals may be submitted at any time and will be processed to begin the following week
Please note that this applies ONLY to students who currently live in the residence halls. Off Campus meal plan holders please use the appropriate link on the menu at left.

Deadline to Decrease Meal Plan Options*

Fall Quarter = August 10, 2007
Winter Quarter = December 15, 2007
Spring Quarter = March 23, 2008

Approximate rate difference: (for planning purposes)

19 meals per week versus 14 meals per week = $34.00 per month
14 meals per week versus 10 meals per week = $29.00 per month
19 meals per week versus 10 meals per week = $63.00 per month

Please note: Billing transactions generated due to a meal plan change will be posted to a student’s BARC account.

Requesting Meal Plan Changes

Submit your meal plan change requests to mealplanchanges@housing.ucsb.edu. Please email us from your umail account. Be sure to include the following:

full name
perm number
current meal plan
requested meal plan
cell or room phone number
