We are proud to share that Santa Rosa Residence Hall has been awarded LEED* Gold certification by the US Green Building Council following a significant effort to upgrade and renew the building in summer 2012. Santa Rosa was originally built in 1954 and is the oldest LEED certified building at UCSB. Anacapa and Santa Cruz Residence Halls will undergo similar renovations during the summer of 2013 and 2014, respectively, and are both striving for LEED Gold certification. It is our hope that these initiatives will have a positive impact on the environment and support UCSB on its way to becoming a sustainable community.
The upgrades which collectively earned Santa Rosa the distinction of LEED Gold certification are:
