Join Our Weekly Tweet Chat #UCSBMoveIn2016!

July 12, 2016

Join UCSB Housing & Residential Services every Thursday at 3:30pm PDT for a weekly tweet chat to talk about all things Move-In 2016. We know that everyone is anxious about move-in and we hope that this weekly chat can help inform future Gauchos (and their families) on what to expect that weekend and how to best prepare for their first year living with us!

What exactly is a tweet chat?
A tweet chat is where a group of Twitter users meet at a pre-determined time (3:30pm PDT) to discuss a certain topic (move-in 2016), using a designated hashtag (#UCSBMoveIn2016) for each tweet contributed. It's like an online chatroom where you add to the discussion by tweeting. Please be sure to include #UCSBMoveIn2016 in all your tweets, as we will not be able to see your questions if you do not include the hashtag! Feel free to also use "@UCSBHousing" with the designated hashtag to ask your questions. Don't forget that tweets are limited to 140 characters!

How can I participate?
We will be using Twubs to host our weekly tweet chats. CLICK HERE and at the bottom of the page click "Log in with Twitter." Once you authorize the app you can start asking questions! Feel free to also tune in LIVE below.

Who will be participating?
Anyone can participate in this chat! This includes incoming freshmen or transfer students attending UCSB in Fall 2016, any prospective students, current students, and even family members of students. Your hosts for this tweet chat will be H&RS' very own, Mandy Yoshida and Pedro Villalobos. Take a look at their bios below!

What will we be talking about?
Every week we will have a specific theme to talk about. We know that move-in is a pretty broad topic so we decided to make each week a different category. This includes assignments, FSSP, what to bring, decorations, roommates, and more. Please view the calendar below for a full list of topics and their prospective dates.
