New Graduate Student Housing Contract

The 2017-2018 New Single Graduate Student Housing Guarantee will be available... 

April 3 - May 15, 2017

The following information is for new single graduate students who will enter UCSB in Fall 2017. If you are a new graduate student with a family, please apply for Family Student Housing.

  • Applying for New Single Graduate Student Housing

    • Students who are applying for new graduate student housing must first apply for Graduate school and have completed the Graduate Division Online Application Form.
      • You will then use the same Username and Password that you created at the Graduate Division to log into the housing application.
    • Your Housing Guarantee is only valid if you:
      • Submit your Statement of Intent to Register to the Graduate Division by your deadline, but in no case later than May 15.  
      • Submit a contract for a San Clemente Villages apartment by May 15.  Within a few days of returning your contract (beginning in May), you will be sent an email with a link to our online 'Personal Preferences' form. You must complete this form as part of your contract process.
    • You will be able to choose from one of three contract terms:
      • September 1, 2017 - August 15, 2018
      • September 1, 2017 - June 30, 2018
      • September 23, 2017 - June 18, 2018
    • Students that need to begin their contract term during the summer are generally accommodated. Contact us at the number below to discuss your specific situation.
    • New single graduate students are guaranteed housing for two years as long as they adhere to application procedures and deadlines each year.

    • Please check your Umail account directly and frequently so that you don’t miss any important messages from UCSB. It may not be reliable to forward your Umail to an alternate email (gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc.) If you don’t receive a confirmation email from us within a few minutes of submitting your application, check your spam folder.
    • If you wish to cancel your contract prior to July 1, 2017, the cancellation fee is $250. The cancellation fee on July 1, 2017 or later is $350.
