New Graduate Student Housing Contract

The 2016-2017 New Single Graduate Student Housing Guarantee is available... 

April 1 - May 15

The following information is for new single graduate students who will enter UCSB in Fall 2016 and want a housing contract for 2016-2017 single graduate student apartments. If you are a new graduate student with a family, please apply for Family Student Housing.

NOTE: At this time we have more San Clemente contracts than we have space.  Some residents may need to be accommodated in alternate apartment types.  We will provide an update to contract holders by May 31. 

 

  • Applying for New Single Graduate Student Housing

    • Students who are applying for new graduate student housing must first apply for Graduate school and have completed the Graduate Division Online Application Form.
      • You will then use the same Username and Password that you created at the Graduate Division to log into the housing application.
    • Your Housing Guarantee is only valid if you:
      • Submit your Statement of Intent to Register to the Graduate Division by your deadline, but in no case later than May 15.  
      • Submit a contract for a San Clemente Villages apartment by May 15.  Within a few days of returning your contract (beginning in May), you will be sent an email with a link to our online 'Personal Preferences' form. You must complete this form as part of your contract process.
    • You will be able to choose from one of three contract terms:
      • September 1, 2016 - August 15, 2017
      • September 1, 2016 - June 30, 2017
      • September 17, 2016 - June 19, 2017
    • Students that need to begin their contract term during the summer are generally accommodated. Contact us at the number below to discuss your specific situation.
    • New single graduate students are guaranteed housing for two years as long as they adhere to application procedures and deadlines each year.

    • Please check your Umail account directly and frequently so that you don’t miss any important messages from UCSB. It may not be reliable to forward your Umail to an alternate email (gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc.) If you don’t receive a confirmation email from us within a few minutes of submitting your application, check your spam folder.
    • If you wish to cancel your contract prior to July 1, 2016, the cancellation fee is $250. If you request cancellation of your contract on or after July 1, 2016, it will be cancelled only if we have a replacement for you, or if you have also cancelled your registration with UCSB for Fall 2016. The cancellation on July 1, 2016 or later is $350.
