Where Do I Find My Move-In Information?

  • At least two weeks before your assigned move-in date, residents will receive an email to their umail address from our Assignments team with information confiming your apartment number, roommate information and move in day and time. This email will also provide residents' mailing addresses, as well as any last minute information they need for check in.
  • Move In Dates:
    • Residents of San Clemente with 10-month and 11.5 month contracts: September 1, 9:00am - 5:00pm, check-in at Santa Ynez Apartments to pick up keys.
    • Residents of San Joaquin Villages: September 16 & 17, 9:00am - 5:00pm, check-in at Sierra Madre Villages to pick up keys.

What Should I Bring?

  • All apartments are fully furnished
  • We recommend that residents reach out to their roommates to coordinate what they are going to bring to the apartment to allow residents to maximize the space in their units. However, at a minimum, in addition to clothing and personal items each resident should bring: Pillow & pillowcase; Sheets & mattress cover (beds are extra large twin size); Blankets; Towels; Toiletries
  • Standard appliances are provided in apartment kitchens, but it's up to you to coordinate with your roommates as to exactly what kind of cooking equipment, plates, bowls, silverware, (microwave for Santa Ynez Residents) etc. you may want to bring to maximize your storage space.
  • Also make a plan to bring items to keep your spaces clean and tidy.
  • Please do NOT bring items such as: Explosives; firearms or other weapons; Illegal drugs or alcohol; Empty alcohol containers as decorations; Torchiere-style (floor lamps), halogen, or incandescent lamps; Waterbeds; Pets (no unapproved pets allowed in buildings at any time, especially during Move-In Weekend.)

What do I Need to Check-In?

  • Please have your Access Card (your Student ID with your PERM number). This is used to check you in and also serves as a key for many apartments and residence hall areas. New students often obtain their Access cards during orientation; however, if you do not have one please bring photo identification and contact the Access Desk for information about acquiring an Access card.

How Do I Get My Keys?

  • Please note that check-in for most apartments is not at your apartment complex. It is important you pay attention to the maps provided as well as information about your specific building. When you arrive at the check-in area, follow signs for parking and proceed to the check-in station. A staff member will ask you for your Access Card and verify your information with you. They will then provide you with your apartment keys (and bedrooom keys if applicable), as well as a map and some other important information about your new home.
